Rob Baxter
Area Director
Rob Baxter – Area Director for Gloucestershire
Rob joined BNI Business Exchange in Cheltenham in July 2009 after relocating from a BNI Chapter in Bristol, where he was a member for three years.
He has worked full-time as a Graphic Designer since his graduation at De Montfort University with a Masters Degree in Information Design in 1984. He started his working career designing ‘The Car’ Magazine in Slough, Berkshire, before moving on to work for several high profile design agencies in Gloucester, Cheltenham & Hereford.
In 1998, Rob was appointed as Studio Manager for AXA Sun Life at their marketing headquarters in Bristol, liasing directly with AXA Paris on the global corporate branding and guidelines for the company. He headed up an internal studio of over 20 designers, and worked with a multitude of account handlers and printers.
Rob finally entered the world of self-employment in October 2006, when he established his own Creative & Marketing Agency – Red Admiral Design Associates. He has never looked back and considers BNI to be a mainstay of his business. The people and contacts that he has met over the past four years have been inspirational.
He firmly believes that ‘word of mouth’ referral is the best form of advertising and that spending quality time with other BNI members and attending training is key to his business success. As the first Chapter Director of the newly launched BNI Business Exchange, Cheltenham, he has found the formation and development of the group to be very rewarding.
With the new focus on BNI South West Midlands under the stewardship of Peter Sylvester, he is very keen to help to promote BNI within the region. He is already actively involved in rolling out the new BNI branding and producing quality marketing materials at both regional and local level.
During his leisure time, Rob is a season ticket holder at Gloucester Rugby Club and keeps fit by walking and running. He has entered the last four London Marathons, raising thousands of pounds for The Spring Centre Children’s Charity in Gloucester and sees this as an annual pilgrimage. His aim is to run ten consecutive London Marathons. He also has a fascination with Crop Circles and attends the annual Crop Circle Convention every August, in Devizes, Wiltshire.
